Frequently Asked Questions

What does “Quebrada” mean, and how do you pronounce it?

Quebrada is a Spanish geographical term used throughout Central and South America to denote a break in terrain. The figure in the Quebrada™ logo sits in just such a quebrada in the rolling hills at the headwaters of the Rio Magdalena, Colombia, South America.

The “que” phonetic is pronounced “Kay” – as in Kay Wiggin, the founder and owner of Quebrada Baking Co. (say: “Kay-bra-da).

Does Quebrada Baking Co. offer online ordering?

We do not offer online ordering, but we welcome telephone orders. At Quebrada Baking Co. offering only “Fresh, Fresh, Fresh™” products made from the freshest, simplest wholesome ingredients is a core value. As such, we simply can’t ship our baked goods and deserts, because to do so would deprive our customers of their full enjoyment.

Also, during our 30+ years in business, we’ve found most customers like to speak directly with a baker when ordering items such as custom-decorated cakes, cupcakes, or party platters for entertaining at home or the office.

Please call our East Arlington (781.648.0700) or Wellesley (781.237.2111) neighborhood bakeries anytime during normal store hours, 7 days a week.

When are the bakeries open and where are they located?

Both neighborhood bakeries are open every day from 6 AM – 6 PM. The Arlington bakery is located in the Capitol Block at 208 Mass Ave., right next to the Capitol Theatre (Map Link). The Wellesley Hills bakery is located at 272 Washington St.  next to the Whole Foods grocery store.

When does the Massachusetts Meal Tax apply to Quebrada Baking Co. products?

When you buy six (6) or more of any product for entertaining, the 6.25% Massachusetts meals tax does not apply. It does apply when you buy fewer than six items.

Does Quebrada Baking Co. offer products made without sugar?

If you are asking in regard to a diabetic diet, the answer is no.
